Each resident is provided a free, fully furnished live/work studio; a travel stipend; monthly honorarium; one parking space; technical and program administrative support; and shares a full kitchen, laundry facilities, and dining and lounge areas.

Paid by artist 

Participants pay (subsidized) rent of $450 per month, which includes all utilities, full use of the residency floor and one parking space.

Visiting Residency Program

Description 

Cannonball is a non-profit, arts organization dedicated to supporting artists, innovative forms of cultural production, and education to advance critical discourse and understanding of contemporary art practice. Based in downtown Miami, Florida, Cannonball’s artist-centric values are mirrored in its experimental programs, resources, and opportunities that respond to the needs of today’s artists and reflect our efforts to better understand the nuances and textures of South Florida. 

Their Residency Program is open to local, national, and international artists, curators, and other cultural producers, the live/work Residency Program offers dedicated time, space, resources, and technical/administrative support to conduct research, produce new work, and engage the community about issues at stake in this region.

 

Visiting Residency

The Visiting Residency Program offers national and international cultural producers – artists, curators, art writers, scholars, museum professionals, etc. one to three month residencies in Miami, Florida. Taking a cross-disciplinary approach to research and production, the program is strategically designed to facilitate collaboration and cross-pollination of diverse ideas and perspectives among residents. Moreover, the program encourages residents to fully integrate into the city by engaging community members, establishing professional relationships, and considering real issues at stake in Miami and South Florida. Residents are also welcome to propose programs, such as readings, panel discussions, performances, exhibitions, or off-site interventions, that are free and open to the public.
