  • Accommodation: a room with bedding in the Birch and Pine Ranch. Indoor and outdoor work spaces.
  • All activities.
  • Ground travel to all activities.
  • Most meals will be provided, cooked by resident chef. Residents are welcome to use the kitchen. *Residents will be responsible for paying for their own meals from restaurants wich will happen 2 or 3 times in the week.
  • Workshops and field trips lead by members of the local community.
  • Introductions to sites and contexts.
  • Facilitators / production assistants.
  • Participation in residency catalogue.
Paid by artist 

Residency fees depend on which residency you apply for but are around $1200 CAD (approx. 854 Euro) plus tax. Residents need to secure funding for the residency fee and travel, but once they arrive they do not need to pay for anything.

Ayatana Artist Research Program

Description 
The Ayatana artist research program is a Canadian, artist run, residency program dedicated to encouraging hands on research, adventure, experimentation and collaboration between visiting artists. Ayatana workshops focus on experience and encounters with the natural world. The residency facilitates field research and contact with scientists and experts in a diverse range of settings. 
Outcome 

Time during the residency is spent on field trips but all residents will be included in the Ayatana catalogue. If the group will also be invited to participate in the Ayatana artist book project and to work together to develop an exhibition.

Accommodation Information 

Residents are given a room with bedding.

Location 

The location changes all the time. They have enjoyed working in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada and Wakefield Quebec, Canada and have plans to move the program around the world.
