Au Brana is a centre for performance research and practice in rural southern France founded in 2005 by Kate Hannah Perry and Oliviero Papi. Created by artists for artists, the centre is dedicated to the development and support of emerging artists and the exchange of practice across all performance disciplines. Each year the centre functions as a rehearsal and development venue for new work, hosting residencies and workshop sessions and the activities of OBRA Theatre Co, company in residence. Through regular public performances of works in progress, workshop demonstrations and music events, the centre acts as a link between international and local culture.
The Au Brana Centre is offering a 2 - week residency for artists to develop their practice, for artistic exchange or a new project.
You will be required to share your work in some form with the local public at the end of the residency.
The centre’s facilities are contained within a converted barn and they include;
Au Brana is in the Gers, a rural department in South-Western France. The nearest airports to the centre are Toulouse and Bordeaux. From there it is a train to Agen and a 40minutes bus ride to Lectoure.
Agen is on the main train route in France and serviced by high speed trains from Paris.
Local commerce and farmers markets within 5km.
