artAmari Residency

artAmari Residency

artAmari is looking to host visual artists residing outside of Greece, of informed contemporary practice with a conceptual edge.
The artists will have a unique opportunity to experience local life first hand and be inspired from so many diverse areas of interest such as unique nature and landscape, traditional way of living and working, music, architecture, nutrition and history.

artAmari would like to introduce artists to this amazing place and culture but also introduce the locals to contemporary art. They aspire for the visiting artists to interact with the locals so that they understand and embrace the “ways” of contemporary art. The area is quite isolated but highly inspiring, which means it is perfect for artists that seek the focus and concentration to take their practice further.

Each residency is "tailor made" providing the resident artist with information, tours, visits and experiences that comply with the focal point of their practice.

Talk/Presentation of the artists work towards the end of their stay -Children’s Workshop Artists are encouraged to leave a work made during the residency to artAmari which will be on permanent display in the Residence and with the aim to have a group exhibition of the participant artists in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete.
