The artists must pay for the flight ticket, for the trip from the airport to the centre of the town, for accommodation and for food. The costs for accommodation can vary from 150 to 300 euros per month, depending on the area of town. The painters must also bring with them the necessary materials: colours, canvases, paintbrushes (or they can buy them in Iasi), except for easels which are provided by George Enescu Fine Arts University.

Artalpha Iasi Art Residency is focused on an intercultural exchange with international artists only from painting area. The main aim of Art Alpha Residency is to create various and complex events in Iasi, a cultural town with a lots of inspiration sources, to meet the local artists and the students from George Enescu Fine Arts University, to exchange ideas and to share experiences with them as for a future possible collaboration and to exhibit in Aparte Gallery which belongs to the university or in another gallery from Iasi (this is not mandatory).

Mihai Ursachi House of Culture offers to painters a free working space. The working space is an exhibition space which offers them the opportunity to be almost all the time in touch with people and to create in a public space. The studio is located in the centre, near the university in Copou Park, as both institutions: George Enescu Fine Arts University and Mihai Ursachi House of Culture are located next to each other, namely in Copou area. In this area there can be found bus and tram stations, small shops, coffee shops, supermarkets and restaurants. George Enescu Fine Arts University will provide the artists with easels, while the organizer will also take into consideration other needs the artists have. The artists only have to bring with them canvases, paintbrushes and colours.
The residency artists can make an online research by using the computers of the university and they also have access to the books of the library.
Iasi, known as The Cultural Capital of Romania, is the second-largest city in Romania, after the national capital Bucharest, and the seat of Iași County. Located in the historical region of Moldavia, Iași has traditionally been one of the leading centres of Romanian social, cultural, academic and artistic life. Iași is one of the most important education and research centres of the country and its social and cultural life revolves around: the Palace of Culture, the Vasile Alecsandri National Theater, the Moldova State Philharmonic, the Opera House, the Iași Athenaeum, the Botanical Garden, the Central University Library, the high quality cultural centres and festivals, an array of museums, memorial houses, religious and historical monuments.
