Each artist automatically applys to win the sponsorship by PAC. One artist every period can win a full refund of their €600, the winner is chosen by the Art House Holland jury and announced on the website of PAC.
The residency costs €600 a month. This includes the stay at the house, use of the workspaces and breakfast from monday to friday. It does not include travel or other expenses.
The applications can be submitted untill at least one month before the preffered period of residency. The selected applicants will be notified by e-mail and afterwards, there will be a page on the residency website where pictures about their process will be published. Every applicant must send a portfolio including a small biography and curriculum vitae, images of their latest work, a brief motivation letter and contact information, pointing the residency period of interest. Please send the documentation to firstname.lastname@example.org including the title 'Art House Holland Residency' (all the documentation has to be in pdf max seize 10 MB).
Candidates will be selected by a jury composed by Santiago Pani, artist and director of the residency; Óscar García García, director of PAC and Sara Torres Sifón, commissary and editor at PAC, based on the following criteria: 60% originality and innovation in their artistic or investigation work; 30% curriculum and trajectory and 10% motivation letter.
Art House Holland by PAC is an artist residence located in Leiderdorp, in a rural atmosphere, just a short trip away from the big cities like Leiden, The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. They offer the artist-in-residence programs for five artists, providing private spaces for self-directed residencies, with time, support and room for creativity.
The beneficiaries of the artistic residency can belong to any discipline and nationality - directed to culture professionals (commissaries, curator, artists, etc) with no age limit, who want to develop a creative or investigation project. The applicants must have a previous artistic background or qualifications which certifies them in the art or cultural field.
Work on their personal works and studies plus engage with other residents. The organizers ask each artist to donate one piece to be exposed during the Art House Holland exhibitions. All the project and artist get mentioned in a piece on the PAC website (Plataforma de Arte Contemporaneo), which is the most viewed online art magazine in spanish speaking countries.
Five private rooms, four of them fit 2 people. There are two bathrooms and an extra toilet. Additionally there is a shared kitchen and living space area.
Two studios, one is 150m2, focused on painting, sculpture making, with individual working tables, drawing tables and a wood workshop. The second studio is a printing workshop, dedicated to design, print making (60x100cm press) and silkscreen.
