Anderson Ranch’s artists-in-residence program fosters creative and intellectual growth for emerging and established visual artists. Residents have access to world-class facilities at the Ranch and 10 weeks of uninterrupted studio time. They provide studios, facilities, a community of working artists, and feedback from visiting artists and critics. The Ranch setting is specifically crafted to aid artists in the production of their work, free from the distractions of everyday life. Residencies are offered to artists who work in one of the following media: ceramics, new media, photography, furniture design, woodworking, painting, drawing, printmaking and sculpture. There are no specific educational qualifications for entry into the AiR program. Awards will be made to those, who in the exclusive opinion of the jury, have submitted the best work by the application deadline. While in residence, artists will be encouraged to pursue their own work amidst a group of artistic peers. The residency is designed to allow artists to take risks and pursue new projects and ideas. Artists-in-residence are encouraged to pursue a multidisciplinary approach toward their work while at the Ranch.
