For organisations

For organisations

DutchCulture | TransArtists not only offers services for artists, but also for organisations that want to know more about or want to be involved in artist-in-residence opportunities.

Museums, art spaces, education institutes, funds, governments, ngo's: more and more they want to connect to, or to be involved in artist-in-residence opportunities. Organisations are approached by artists for financial or logistic support for their residency. They also are approached by other organisations, to support artist-in-residence programmes, or to form networks, or exchange experiences.

Through its expertise and network DutchCulture | TransArtists can answer questions, give advice, and connect organisations.

Education

Knowing that artist-in-residence programmes are "out there" is something else than knowing how to really get there. How to make a choice out of hundreds of opportunities? For which purpose? In which stage of your career? How to apply? How to match your wishes with the conditions of the residential programs on offer? These are a few of the questions we go through during a workshop.

We offer custom made workshops which give artists a clear insight in the ways they can find and use artist-in-residence opportunities. The meetings give ample possibility for questions and personal advice. We are happy to develop a workshop specifically for your target group, being young, mid-career, established artists, or specifically for one discipline. We usually ask for a fee and for reimbursement of travel expenses when we provide a workshop on request. Please contact us to discuss your workshops' needs, wishes and more.

The Database: for organisations too!

Searching for artist-in-residence programmes as partners of your international cultural policy or activities? The TransArtists' database of more than 1400 artist-in-residence opportunities worldwide helps to give you a picture of residencies close-by or far away.

Are you running a residency programme yourself ? Funding organisations

Searching for artist-in-residence programmes as partners of your international cultural policy or activities? The TransArtists' database of more than 1400 artist-in-residence opportunities worldwide helps to give you a picture of residencies close-by or far away. We provide more detailed advice for funding organisations looking for the right international artist-in-residence programmes with whom to develop a one-time or long-term partnership. This is a service we provide on a regular basis to the Mondriaan Fund (Dutch visual arts funding organisation), the Dutch Performing Arts Fund, the Flemish Arts and Heritage funding body, and more. Please contact our staff to know more about this detailed advice.

We collaborate with other cultural knowledge centers elsewhere, which offer an overview of artist-in-residence opportunities in their own region. Read more about our (international) partners here, and discover all the artist-in-residence knowledge centers we know about on this page.
