On the Move commissioned researchers to map grants and support schemes focusing on the Caribbean in order to help organisations and arts workers to engage with international colleagues and finance their international travel. This research took place from February to July 2024.

The main objective of this Cultural Mobility Funding Guide is to provide an overview of the funding bodies and programmes that support the international mobility of artists and culture professionals with a focus on the Caribbean, namely: Countries of the Caribbean Region (Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago); Non-sovereign Nations of the Caribbean Region (Caribbean British Overseas Territories, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Turks and Caicos Islands, French overseas departments, regions, and communities in the Caribbean – Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, Saint Barthélemy – ; Territories of the United States in the Caribbean – Navassa Island, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands –; Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands – Aruba, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, Sint Maarten, Curaçao, Saba, Colombia, Archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina).

This Cultural Mobility Funding Guide should also provide inspiration for those responsible for public policies and mobility funds at local, regional, national and International/European levels, as well as private donors and mobility stakeholders at large. Reinforcing awareness of the remaining obstacles that stand in the way of equal access to international opportunities, it can suggest areas that should be financed more fairly and efficiently in order to ensure more sustainable support for cross-border cultural collaboration within the Caribbean and/or connected to it.

The guide will be introduced during the webinar: Internationalisation and the Caribbean to be held on 25 September 2024. Register here.
