Residency Network Hub Baltic region

April 7,8, 2017, Berlin

AiR Platform NL joined the Residency Network Hub for cultural Intermediaries in Berlin.

The meetings and work sessions were organized by Arts Promotion Centre Finland/Lapland, to support the development of new projects and collaborations between Air organizations and partners in the Barents Sea and Baltic region. The presentations and intense group discussions on project development were guided by Lea O’Loughlin, International Manager at ACME studios in London, and vice-president of the board of RESartis.

Four project teams worked on their program, business plan and final strategy in order to take the next step in eligibility for several funding programs. Lea O’Loughlin and the invited experts Heidi Vogels, Laura Seifert, Petteri Putkinen helped to evaluate the projects and ground them in sustainable frameworks.

The four projects:

  • What’s up: The project aims to create a touring forum and residency program to connect (international) curators, cultural producers and artists in the region
  • MOR(Z)E: A sailing residency for a group of multidisciplinary art professionals from the Baltic countries
  • Eco Art Tourism: Ecological cultural traveling as a resource for the re-generation of the rural region
  • Well Being Residency Think Tank: A 2-year capacity building project to create tool-sets for new residency practices in context of health and well-being in the Barents region

The meeting took place in Lettrétage and was hosted by Berlin Sessions. This was the second (out of three) meetings, of which the first meeting took place in November 2016 in St Petersburg, read all about it here.
