Description
Studio 468 is managed by Common Ground along with representatives from Dublin City Council Arts Office and Rialto Development Association. In exchange for the studio residency period all artists are asked to identify a community group in the Rialto area that they will engage with during their studio award time.
Studio Information
The studio measures 15ft W x 24 L X 11 H with a WC, separate store and sink area. It is equipped with a computer with Internet access. It is a well-lit pleasant space with glass double doors leading to the centre's enclosed courtyard garden. (The floor is concrete and so may have limited use for artists involved in dance/physical theatre.)
Paid by host
The residency offers a rent-free studio (non-residential) with 7 days a week, 24 hour access and heating, lighting and broadband Internet costs covered.
Paid by artist
In exchange for the residency the selected artist(s) is/are expected work with a community project in the Rialto area. It is envisaged that no more than one day or six hours per week would be devoted to the development and implementation of this project. Otherwise artists are free to develop their own work within the studio.
Location
Studio 468 is located in the St Andrew's Community Centre, Rialto, in the south inner city of Dublin. There is a range of community based projects in the centre including: Rialto Community Drug Team, Rialto Day Care Centre and Rialto Youth Project.
