Description
Ruangrupa is an artist' initiative from Jakarta. They are setting up an official residency program.The artist can work there on an individual project. This program is open for Indonesian and foreign artists who address visual art as a 'cultural practice' which is potential to stimulate discussions. It is also open for those who are enthusiastic about sharing different points of view, exploring and interacting with the Jakarta urban surrounding.
The residency program could run over a span of a maximum of one month. In the end of the working period there will be a presentation of the works. ruangrupa will only accept a maximum of three artists in residence in one year.
Technical Information
They provide use of equipment, computers for image developing,video/sound editing, and Internet access.
Studio Information
260 square meters space, with one residential room with shared shower and toilets. There are three different spaces for exhibition and working, in total approximately 54 square meters.
Accommodation Information
Bedroom for artist-in-residence. Kitchen, shower room & two toilets. living room with television, VCR/video player/sound system, and beamer (LCD-video projector).
Location
The space is situated in the south part of Jakarta, in one of the busy areas. Tebet area is one of the strategic places in south of Jakarta.
