Description
Located in the hilltop village of Noèpoli, in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy, Palazzo Rinaldi is a historical property offering International artists' of various disciplines & levels a unique opportunity to live and pursue their creative work within a remote, tranquil and natural environment. Palazzo Rinaldi is being developed with Art & Sustainability as its core values. The residence is small scale, low impact, locally owned, community-oriented and nature based.
Studio Information
2 studios located in house, 31 sqm and 16 sqm in size. 24-hr access. Also use of library area and terrace.
Accommodation Information
The spacious, high-ceilinged two bedrooms are decorated with original period furniture and features, such as wrought iron beds, oak beams and cotto baked floor tiles. The Master Bedroom also comes with a breathtaking terrace view of the Sarmento valley below. Provided are also soft cotton bathrobes and slippers for personal use, daily room servicing, complimentary toiletries and info pack on arrival. Workshops on southern Italian folklore and Italian cooking demonstrations are regularly scheduled.

The residency fee (check website for 2009 rates) includes private accommodation in the original Palazzo building, unrestricted 24hr access to in-house Studios, use of library and all common areas, organic Full Traditional Breakfast cooked in-house daily.
Location
Noèpoli is an Enotrio-Lucanian village of 1,200 inhabitants, founded in the VIII-VII century b.C. and located on a hilltop 626m above sea level. It is situated within the confines of Pollino, at 20,000 square km. the biggest National Park in Europe. This privileged position has ensured through the years the preservation of the local natural environment: the area enjoys uncommonly clean, crisp air, unspoilt countryside stretching as far as the eye can see, silence, tranquility and wholesome food produce. Noepoli also represents the ideal starting point for visiting sights such as the UNESCO world heritage site of Matera, Carlo Levi's confinement home in Aliano, and award-winning blue flag beaches of Maratea and Policoro.

Please forward completed 2009 Application form (downloadable from the Palazzo Rinaldi website)to include a detailed Proposal, plus copy of recent CV and samples of work relevant to residency proposal. Applications, once checked for completeness, will be booked into the residency on the preferred dates on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications by email only.
