Lacawac Sanctuary, a nature preserve, ecological field research station and public environmental education facility located in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania was founded in 1966.

Their mission:
• Preserve our unique glacial lake, its watershed, surrounding forest and historic buildings
• Provide public education on environmental and conservation issues
• Maintain a venue for ecological research, scholarly interaction and the training of scientists

They support artists and writers of all disciplines whose work addresses the environment and human's interaction with nature.

Outcome

Artists and writers are free of obligation to teach or perform, although they hope all participants are open to sharing their work.

Studio Information

There are 3 indoor studio spaces available, all of which are appropriate for most visual art mediums. One dance and performance space.

Accommodation Information

There are as many as 8 rooms available, depending upon the season.
