Kunstkollektivet 8B
Kunstkollektivet 8B is an AiR for ceramic and textile artists located in a beautiful small village close to beach and forest in Denmark, about one hour’s drive from Copenhagen. Kunstkollektivet 8B has professional and good equipped studios as well as exhibition spaces, so you’ll get the perfect place to immerse yourself in a project and an opportunity to present your work in professional surroundings. Kunstkollektivet 8B, is a non-profit organization driven by local volunteers in cooperation with professional artists.
They offer three residency programs within ceramic and textile: a program for Design&Crafts, program for Fine Arts and program for Public Art. To each of the programs there is connected professional networks as galleries and mediators of crafts, and as a resident you'll have the opportunity to get a few hours of coaching from one of their professional mentors, who consist the artistic committee.
It’s possible for the resident to arrange exhibitions, workshops or talks, but it’s not required. The artist will be expected to work seriously with the proposed project. It’s also expected that they follow the house rules, are respectful towards the other residents and help keeping the common areas clean and tidy.
- There is a ceramic studio with facilities for three artists, a textile print studio with facilities for two artists, and textile studio with weaving and sewing facilities for three artists. The ceramics studio contains two ceramic kilns, electric potter’s wheel, a well equipped spray booth, assorted buckets, basins, racks and tables.
- The textile studios contains heat presser, raket, screen printing frames, exposure unit and washing room, back stitch sewing machine, serger, overlock, Silver Reed SK 840 electronic knitting machine, electric yarn winder, ironing board with suction, Countermarsch Loom (12 shafts), Toika computer loom (24 shafts), warping mill (4M) and assorted worktables, hotplates and check-weigher scales.

As an artist in residence in Kunstkollektivet 8B you will live together with two more artist. Artists get their own private room and access to cozy common areas incl. garden and a worktable in one of the newly renovated studios.
