$15 application fee. Application email should specify "The International Institute of Contemporary Art and Theory" in email heading and should include:

  • 5-15 images of work samples
  • CV
  • Artist statement
  • Statement of intent

IICaT: International Institute of Contemporary Art and Theory

Description 

The International Institute of Contemporary Art and Theory overlooks the Black Sea in the coastal town of Mangalia, Romania. The program hosts international scholars, professionals, and students who are interested in art theory, art history, and art making in order to foster critical dialogue, professional networking, and a focused studio practice for participants.

IICAT operates in partnership with the Crane Archive Space Project, a gallery in the Crane Arts Building in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Single bedroom per applicant.

Studio Information 

Large shared studio space with natural lighting. Also, free to use bedrooms as studios.
