Description
Goa Center for Alternative Photography (Goa-CAP) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in Goa, India. The Goa-CAP is the first conservative art space dedicated exclusively to photography and aims to become a professional and comprehensive platform for the promotion of alternative photography Art in India. The Art Commune is a residency and project workshop for the promotion of Alternative Photography and international exchange. Its principal focus is international residencies program to which artists from various disciplines around the world are invited to live, work, collaborate and exhibit during the residency period. The goal is to offer artists studios, time, and resources for pursuing their range of expression, for experimenting, for developing projects, while working and living in a global village environment.
An exhibition of the art work produced by the residents in the "Galerie Daguerre", shall conclude the program. Local artists and people will attend the exhibition from the surrounding areas. Artists are encouraged to give lectures/ art presentations and conduct workshops with the students at the Art University through collaboration of Goa-CAP.
Studio Information
Studios are in several great trees and stones in the village. Residents shall have 24-hour access to the studio. Black and white darkroom, computer with Internet access, and video collection available. Photography and Painting materials are available at the Goa-CAP Store.
Accommodation Information
Residents stay in the single occupancy, tents especially designed and built for the residency. Goa-CAP provides basic housekeeping services and provides clean sheets and towels on weekly basis. The program fee includes three Goan meals each day, excluding trip days. Residents enjoy these meals together in the dining room, or on the terrace.

Artists based in Latin America are welcome to apply for one month artist-in-residence at Goa-CAP, as part of Indo-Peruvian art exchange program. Goa-CAP will provide apartment and studio free of charge.
Paid by artist
The fee includes studio space, a single room, and three meals a day, group trips, and ground transportation from and to the Goa airport. The duration of the Art Commune is one month and artist may apply for individual residency also.

Location
ART COMMUNE is located 1 km. away from the Calangute beach; one of the most famous and beautiful beaches of the world. It takes 10 minutes brisk walk from the ART COMMUNE to the Calangute beach. It occupies 4000 Sq/m property which includes orchard and living house. The territory gives possibility to live and work in the same area.
