Description

D'CLINIC is designed to deliver a supportive community where artists can focus on their own creative practice and/or research, share skills and knowledge, interact or collaborate in an multidisciplinary vibrant environment free from constraint, harshness or formality. The residency has both indoor and outdoor spaces for creativity. The offered working space is flexible, and generally adopted to each artist's individual requirements and needs. Each proposed project is agreed individually.

Artist in residency programs: Mixer is a cross-disciplinary collaborative “playground” / experiment where artists from diverse artistic disciplines and cultural backgrounds can engage, share methodologies and inspire each other. With the task of working in pairs, artists are given the opportunity to regenerate their creative dynamism, exchange and develop new ideas, while learning valuable insights from other art forms. MiXER focuses on experimental research and discussion.
Within the framework of Tractor international artist in residency you’ll be exposed to a unique opportunity to explore, expand and / or develop your artistic ambitions. This self-directed, non-pressured, non-judgmental programme offers you the luxury of time, space and freedom to perform a new body of work, research ideas, experiment with different techniques or modes of production. Interact with other artists, or use the time as an opportunity to re-turn to yourself – you choose.

Outcome

While MiXER is a three-week programme with a structured outcome: the residency ends with a public presentation of the completed project, an ARTIST'S BOOK is designed and published as a limited edition artifact; all but two copies of the published book remain to the participating artists.
TRACTOR programme, on the other hand, is not pressuring artists to deliver finished work. However, artists who stay three or more weeks are offered the opportunity to show their work within a project-exhibition at the end of the residency. And all guest artists have the option to show / share work through open studio events, presentations, readings, screening, workshops, lectures etc. The organisers will help you to work out and organize the event.

Studio Information

The studio has about 100sqm, high ceiling & good light of space for creative engagement. The space is divided into 2 parts: a smaller 12sqm enclosed studio and a larger “open” studio space; this, however, is flexible and can be organised into smaller individual units – depending on the specific needs of individual artists. For writers and/or individuals who mostly work with a computer, a single, 30sqm live/work room is available. The studio is open 24/7 and all along their stay artists are free to organise their time at D’CLINIC. In specific cases and based on request, it is possible to arrange access to additional facilities for production.

Accommodation Information

A furnished, shared house with 2 single bedrooms and 1 shared bedroom for creative duos and/or collectives is offered. Within there is a shared kitchen, bathroom and a cosy yard. The provided studios are situated within the same building. D’CLINIC residency house is only about 15-minute walk from the city centre of Zalaegerszeg.

Technical Information

An open network of cultural institutions & workshops provides resident artists with a wide range of equipment and/or materials they might not have at place (i.e. bronze casting tools & foundry for small-scale sculptures, wood workshop, lithograph supplies & press, dark room, screen printing equipment, all sorts of wooden frames, canvas stretchers etc). All requirements will be discussed on a case-by-case basis before signing the residency contract. Thus at your arrival to the center all agreed tools and supplies will be ready for you to use.
