Description
The Maurits Binger Film Institute is a unique post academic development and training programme for film. Its aim is to increase and perfect the skills of new professional filmmakers through the development of a number of film projects.Its focus is on screenwriting, directing and producing. Concentrating on the feature-length fiction film and the television single play, the Institute offers guidance, coaching, and facilities for experimentation and practice on various aspects of the productions which are in development.The Maurits Binger Film Institute is neither an academic institution nor a film factory. Their policy is practical and dynamic. They are open to new developments, ideas and trends. At the same time, the projects developed are subjected to continual critical analysis, a firm footing in film tradition, and a healthy scepticism towards the fashion of the moment.

Application Criteria
A select group of talented filmmakers, all of whom have professional experience in screenwriting, directing and/or producing, are admitted for one or more semesters. Grouped into creative teams, the participants develop an average of sixteen film projects per year aimed at the national and international film industries, under the guidance of the very finest script doctors, guest tutors, coaches and lecturers from around the world. The delicate balance between artistic integrity and commercial feasibility is analysed and discussed at every stage of development.
