Studio Residency Stipend Bibliothek Andreas Züst

Description

Twice annually—respectively, during one month in April and November, the Bibliothek Andreas Züst is offering three studio residency stipends under the new Atelierstipendium program. According to the needs of the applicant, the length of the stay can range from one to four weeks. Application for the Studio Residency Stipend is open to national and international individual persons or working teams (max. four persons). The program is intended for cultural workers across disciplines in the fields of visual arts, literature, new media, music, theatre, dance, design, architecture, film, photography, and art-related disciplines. Selections for the studio residency stipends take place through a panel consisting of representatives of the Bibliothek Andreas Züst as well as an external jury.

Sought-after are projects that deal with the library as a whole or one of its sub-areas. The position of the residency program is to be seen in the tradition of libraries as places of knowledge, considered as a field with all its multiplicity.

Accommodation Information

One bedroom with a separate work area is available to each artist.

Studio Information

In addition, there is a shared studio/music room available, as well as different areas available throughout the Alpenhof for working quietly. Further facilities: shared kitchen, dining and living rooms, and the library.

Location

The Alpenhof is an inspiring location for a retreat and working, with opportunities for exchange and relaxation. Situated at 1,110 m.a.s.l. overlooking the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance, here landscape conjoins with lingering; the Alpstein mountains with a sea of fog; Eastern Switzerland with Übersee; traditional Alpaufzug (procession of cows on mountain paths) with astronomy. The Alpenhof itself, with its rooms, grand halls, terraces, and the music room, is open to guests from far and wide, encouraging encounters of all kinds. Depending on the bookings, the Alpenhof can be either busily lively or peacefully quiet.
