Description
ARC - Arts Residency Cairo is an international artists' residency. Established by artists for artists, it offers the place to work on artistic projects or simply take some time and space to foster awareness and enhance the creative process. ARC consists of ArtHome in Cairo and Sobek Lodge in the Fayoum oasis.
ARC's aim is to celebrate art, culture and consciousness and provide visiting international artists with a comfortable, friendly atmosphere and opportunities to create.
Accommodation Information
ArtHome accommodates up to 4 artists at any one time; with two people sharing each room (or you can book a bedroom to be private if you wish). There is one living room, two bathrooms, a kitchen and one shared studio/workspace with good light and one of the bedrooms also has available workspace.
Paid by artist
120 LE per night. Discount on stays of one week and over.
Location
Cairo has a strong cultural heritage and is also producing new exciting contemporary work; you will find many opportunities artistic and otherwise.
Fayoum is an oasis in the western desert which will provide you with sustenance and natural inspiration.
Application Criteria
ARC is open to visual artists, writers, mixed media artists, sculptors, dancers and performance artists for stays of two nights to one month with residencies available in Cairo and Fayoum oasis.
